ATLANTA, Jan. 30, 2023 – The HBCU All-Star Battle of the Bands legacy event announced its partnership with iHeartMedia Atlanta for its upcoming showcase at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Feb. 4, 2023. iHeartMedia Atlanta joins a group of powerhouse sponsors, such as Allstate, to unite together and spread the word about the world’s largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) marching band and dance team exhibition.

Showcasing more than 35,000 student musicians over the last 17 years, the HBCU All-Star Battle of the Bands will feature talented performers from six HBCUs and two local powerhouse high schools. iHeartMedia’s 105.3 The Beat, has begun online and on-air ticket giveaways, and will even give away a viewing party from a suite in the Mercedes Benz Stadium with its on-air personalities, JoJo and Big Homie.  Both sweepstakes are being promoted live on-air on Atlanta’s 105.3 The Beat throughout the day. Participants can enter to win tickets or the chance to view the HBCU Battle of the Bands from the comfort of a suite by listening to 105.3 The Beat, also available on the  iHeartRadio App, or through visiting 105.3 the Beat’s website at 1053thebeat.com.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Atlanta’s premier radio station, 105.3 The Beat with iHeartMedia, to get the word out there about the most energy-filled event of the year,” said Tom Grabowski, founder of the HBCU All-Star Battle of the Bands. “The HBCU All-Star Battle of the Bands is all about legacy – the legacy of this event and the legacy of HBCU culture. For the 18th year in a row, we’re bringing together the top HBCUs for a weekend viewers will never forget. The electric feeling from each performance is a moment you’ll never forget.”

Forty-five different HBCUs from around the country will waive student application fees, accept applications on-site, and even offer opportunities for scholarships. High school students and recent graduates are invited to attend the college fair, averaging 7,000 attendees in past years, prior to the band performances from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Active members of the community, Rashan Ali, actor and TV personality, and KD Bowe, legendary radio broadcaster, are proud to host this year’s HBCU All-Star Battle of the bands by bringing the hype and providing fans with an experience they’ll never forget.
